Funkineven qualifie son genre de Hip Soul Sonic. Ces compositions sont une fusion d’acid house et d’electrofunk. Des beats minimalistes et mécaniques sous-tendent des arpèges déstructurés, propagés par des synthétiseurs très eighties déferlant de toutes parts. Il est de la famille de Eglo records, tout comme la chanteuse Fatima qui pose sa voix sur certains de ses morceaux, et, à la manière de Floating Points, la qualité de production se démarque indiscutablement.
